Non-Recorded Draft Decks: The Thread

For all discussion and pointless bickering about the act of drafting Magic: the Gathering. It's the name of the site after all. Also, sealed!

Flunkies are awesome, though I'm not sure I love the sweet flunky + exalted synergy.

Yeah, I wasn't too fond of it either, but all of my exalted guys attack fine with flunkies anyways in that list. Exalted does make the brutes better at least.

I've had some great experience drafting RG aggro. A few flunkies go a long way, and they make an otherwise unimpressive card like reckless brute much better. A single Chandra's Fury is also pretty valuable.

This deck did much better than I thought it was going to.

Heroes of the deck:
Mob Boss + Crusader of Odric / Griffin Protector.
Arms Dealer (I think it just ate removal every time I got to play it)
Rummaging Goblin - This may be one of my favorite cards in the set. Seems to be very underrated by a good chunk of drafters.
Pacifism - Cheap removal is strong, especially when you are rummaging away all your lands after 4-5.
Safe Passage

Double safe passage won me 3 games:
(1) Kept Mob Boss alive long enough with Griffen Protector on the board to swing for lethal.
(2) With only Slumbering Dragon on the board and just having used a safe passage to not die the turn before, opponent alpha striked into another safe passage and made the dragon just big enough to kill him the following turn.
(3) Race where double safe passage prevented just enough damage for me to win at 1 life.

I'm still not sure what to think of slumbering dragon. In 2 games it bought me enough time to rummage away to the good cards in my deck. It gets very threatening when you have a way to protect it (Ring of Xathrid / Safe Passage / Negate) and the opponent doesn't have the correct kind of removal. I think picking it early is a mistake, but if you are already firmly in red and see it...
